Women In Boxing

Pretoria, South Africa – Boxing South Africa (Boxing SA), through its Women in Boxing Committee, will host a landmark media launch event on Friday, 01 August 2025 to unveil its strategic programs focused on empowering women in the sport of boxing. The launch is a critical moment aligned with Women’s Month in South Africa, a time dedicated to celebrating and accelerating gender equity across all sectors.

Taking place in Johannesburg, the media launch will bring together stakeholders from across the sporting and corporate landscape to consolidate efforts toward the Women in Boxing Agenda, a national initiative aimed at elevating the role of women in the boxing fraternity from athletes to administrators.

“This is more than an event. It’s a declaration of intent. Boxing SA is investing in long-term, sustainable development for women in boxing, and we’re calling on media, sponsors, and partners to join us on this journey,” said Rina Subotzky, the Chairperson of the Women in Boxing Committee.

The Committee will officially unveil its Women in Boxing Program Roadmap, covering key initiatives and developmental tournaments scheduled from August 2025 to March 2026, with an outlook toward continued growth in the years ahead.
